Network Expansion Efforts:

During the year 2006, NSGB was able to finalize the legal merger with MIBank which is considered a major step to fulfill NSGB’s expansion plan in Egypt. In 2006, NSGB continued to strengthen its retail activities and expand its presence in more governorates such as Suez, Zagazig and Damietta to reach its clients all over Egypt. With this expansion, the growing branch network reached 96 branches at the end of 2006. On the other hand, the automated service network also expanded to reach 210 ATMs available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  

New Products and Stronger Client Approach:

Applying NSGB model throughout its newly acquired branches network proved successful in attracting new clients, thereby reaching a total base of approximately 400 000 individual clients. Being fully committed to gain customer satisfaction and contentment, NSGB successfully launched new products and services aiming for both increasing existing customer loyalty and expanding its client base. Among these new products and services launched in 2006 were:

  • “Themar” Daily Cumulative Money Market Fund: Investing in secure vehicles such as treasury bills and bonds, banks deposits and saving certificates, Themar provides daily liquidity by calculating a daily cumulative return on investments. With strong marketing efforts and widespread network, Themar (launched in September, 2006) doubled its initial size of 100 million EGP within 2 weeks of launching and reached 1.2 billion EGP at the end of the year.

  • Al Nokhba: It is a long term life insurance investment plan in USD up to 10 years, offering one of the highest returns in the market.

  • New Chip Enabled Credit Card: providing a higher level of security and protection on all financial transactions, in addition to many other benefits specially tailored to meet NSGB cardholders’ expectations.

  • 24/7 Call Center Support: with live agents ready to receive calls round the clock for any inquiry and for card support.

  • Special promotions: including special offers for Valentine’s Day and Mothers’ day. In addition, NSGB concluded several deals with different outlets to issue the 2006 discounts booklet for VISA Cardholders, which had more variety of partners compared to 2005. NSGB also continued to expand the presence of its Youth Offer YO! through several events in key universities.

 

A focus on cross-selling opportunities :

These promotions coupled with a strong marketing plan enabled the bank to increase its performance in comparison with the previous year. With a larger client base and a wider range of product offering, the bank was able to attain a level of retail client deposits of 13.575 Billion EGP at the end of 2006. With the efforts of the branches, the total loans portfolio increased by 76.2% at the end of 2006 compared to 2005.

This business area covers the bank's entire range of counseling and trading operations in securities, foreign exchange, money market instruments, acquisitions, and Egypt's privatization program. We also offer securities lending, custody services, and capital market deals. Our mission is twofold: first, to gear these services to our customers' specific requirements; second, to provide customer advisors with the professional support they need to score successes in the field of investment counseling, asset management, and corporate finance.
